So, the roomie and I decided that we wanted to do something for Halloween for a change. Last year, we bought a ton of candy for the trick-or-treaters and watched Young Frankenstein. Unfortunately, we didn't have any trick-or-treaters because our neighborhood is full of geriatric scene. We were left with A TON of candy that lasted us most of the year (not that there's anything wrong with that).  Then, I went out with some friends because Heather was under 21 and can't go out with us. This year we are in the same boat. Heather is still under 21 and we can't dress up in crazy costumes and go out somewhere (unless we decide to hit something like Olive Garden, but I think people would just look at us funny). And as much as I love curling up on the couch and  watching Young Frankenstein, I am determined for us to get out of this Halloween spinster rut. I don't want to do anything without her because she is my best friend and I always feel guilty when I can't invite her to go to some of the places we people of age enjoy. What I would really love to do is dress up in some costume, hit a karaoke bar, and have a fabulous night. But, can Heather go into a karaoke bar? I'm going to have to research this some more.

Which brings me to our next issue: costumes. The best idea we came up with was 'Nudists on Strike' (ya know, wear our regular clothes, but maybe wear a sign that says this). Then, I saw a picture of a girl dressed up as a loofa and it was so adorable! Now I want to do that but I have no idea how to go about making the costume. I get the general idea of buying some gauzy fabric and wrapping it around ourselves somehow, but just because I act like a spinster most of the time doesn't mean I can sew like one.

I guess what I'm trying to say in a rambly way (aww, I rhymed) is that we need ideas. Ideas for places Heather and I can go together and show off our fabulousness. Ideas for costumes that can be executed with our lack of skills. Ideas in general.

I just reread this whole thing and its a little all over the place. Man, I should get some sleep.
