Being productive...

Guys, I was actually somewhat productive today. You would all be proud.

Well, to be honest, I didn't wake up until noon. And then there was a lot of sitting around. But, I did eventually get up and cleaned, finished my laundry, and washed the dishes. Oh, and I made brownies. I only got the kitchen in the living room done, though. Man almighty, you never realize how big a house is until you have to clean it.

I'm an anal retentive/Monica Geller cleaner, so I don't do it very often. It took me 3 hours to clean my kitchen and the kitchen is probably the smallest room in the house. Not only do I deep clean and scrub everything, I have to reorganize stuff too. Cleaning always takes me forever, so it's usually nice when someone is here to help me out by working on other rooms while I do my thing. But, the roomie goes to Yuma every weekend and I haven't gotten around to cleaning in awhile and if I'm not doing it, it's obviously not getting done, so I had to go it alone. I also sat there and rewashed all the dishes in the dishwasher because the roomie loaded it before she left and she never rinses anything when she puts it in, which is fine. But, it really grosses me out to still have food stuck on the dishes when you put them in and I'm always worried about it getting properly cleaned, so I usually end up rewashing and reloading. I wonder how annoyed she gets when I do that. I'm probably a real treat to live with.

Anywho, I'm finally sitting down to eat, which is probably the worst thing in the world for my body, but I'm hungry, so my body can suck it up.

Tomorrow, Gabby's coming over for a huge Gilmore-esque movie marathon. When we had the Lost party last week, I made a Monty Python reference, and then we started talking about how we haven't seen Holy Grail in awhile, which led to a discussion about all the other silly comedies we haven't seen in awhile, so that's our theme. Monty Python/Mel Brooks movies. I bought a ton of junk food yesterday, which we probably won't eat very much of becasue neither of us eats very much in the first place, and Gabby's bringing pizza. I'm super excited.

Ok, I'm starved and it's hard to eat pasta while I'm typing, so I'm off to watch American Dreams. I know I should probably slow down and savor the last 2 discs, since they are the last in the series, but I probably won't. I'm too sucked in to the season to slow down now.

My icon is really random, but I just reshuffled and added some new icons, so I'm going to try out my new ones on everything.

I'm kinda glad you didn't get around to cleaning the entire house. I'd hate for you to get outside on your porch and end up locked out again. I'm not sure you'd survive another ride down the tree in a chair.

I forgot my American Dreams DVDs, so when I wasn't playing with JJ or creating new user icons for LJ I was writing. Well see if I actually keep anything I wrote after I've given it time to marinate on the page.

Hee! Yeah, the chairs are still in the tree, but they are a little too low for me to sit on now, so I don't think I can make it all the way down again. I should really take those out of the tree. I was going to have Scott, the roomie's husband, get them out when he was here a couple weeks ago, but I completely forgot to ask him. I tried to do it myself, but the freakin' mesquite kept stabbing me and I don't have any hedge clippers, so yeah. The chairs are in the tree.

I'm writing right now, just for you. I like what I have for this chapter better than I thought I did. I'll see how much I get done tonight and maybe send you something.

Monty Python and Mel Brooks What a perfect night!
Bring me a shrubbery. And make it a nice one.
YOur mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries. Now, go away or I shall taunt you a second time. You silly English K-nigh-it. :)

See killer rabbit above...

Re: Monty Python and Mel Brooks What a perfect night!
Now I wish I had a Monty Python icon. *searches google*

I used to have the shrubbery quote as a ringtone on one of my old phones. It never failed to crack me up. "You must bring us...another shrubbery!!!" (cue music) "And then you must cut down the tallest tree in the forest WITH...a herring" (cue music).

Man, I love that movie. Gabby better get over here soon or I'll start without her.

You go girl
Clean away. And my mom literally washes her dishes before putting them in the dishwasher. I have a dishwasher but they never clean them good enough, so I've gone back to hand washing, which is cool because I look out my kitchen window.
I love lazy weekends. Ooh pizza is calling.

Re: You go girl
Me too! And as much as I love having a roommate, I love having the house to myself sometimes.

Hee, so I'm not the only one who obsessively washes her dishes. That makes me feel better. I'm also just like Sookie in that I have a chart for where I like things to be in the dishwasher.

I need a life...
