So, I've been doing an animal unit with my preschoolers the past couple of weeks, since they don't know the signs for any animals. One of the stories we started on Tuesday had a lot of odd animals, like an anteater and armadillo and flamingo, so I've been showing them youtube videos of these animals in the wild while I tell the the stories, and they have really been enjoying it. So today, I decided to show them a video of a crocodile and I found one right away with the words "crocodile" and "gazelle" in the title, and I was like, BONUS, two of our animals! I watched the beginning of the video, saw the little crocodiles swimming around, and was satisfied.

This is what I showed them:

Things I have learned:
A. Always watch the entire video before showing them to 3 year olds.
B. Always read the entire title of the video.
C. Always stop video when there is any sign of animal massacre.
D. Don't continue to watch said video, even if you are incredulous as to why the idiotic gazelles keep jumping into the water.
E. Whatever you do, don't look at your aide and start laughing. It doesn't help.

In other preschool news, a joke told to me by one of the mainstream kids today:

E: Ms. Robin, wanna hear a joke?
Me: Absolutely I do.
E: What has 4 wheels and flies?
Me: Oh, I don't know. Tell me.
E: It's a bird!

E: Ms. Robin! I have another joke.
Me: Ok, let's hear it.
E: What has 4 wheels and walks on the ground?
Me: I don't know.
E: It's a bird!

In other other news: I bought my Nashville tickets yesterday!!!

So, my aunt and my cousins came over to use my shower tonight, since they don't have any water (long story that involves a broken ditch...that's farm livin' for you). When my aunt called me, I joked about how I suspected my cousin Caleb would not be among the ones showering at my house tonight. My aunt laughed and said I was sadly correct.

This is the same child who frequently admits to only showering once a week. With pride, I should add. The same child who, while sitting right next to me as we watched Clueless (don't ask), confessed that he hadn't changed his underwear in 3 days. The same child who refused to shower all week at children's camp, and tried to get away with just standing in the shower area and saying that he was showering when the water was off. The same child who, while explaining a computer game to me, described the continents as "you know, the red one, the blue one, the purple one..."

This has absolutely nothing to do with the other points, I just always find that story hilarious.

So, imagine my surprise when I came home and was greeted by Caleb, the showerless wonder, with wet hair.

The following conversations took place between the hours of 8:00 and 10:00 [/24clock]

I may be a knucklehead, Uncle Bart, but at least I didnt take the F out of FUN!Collapse )

I cannot make this stuff up, folks. I even started writing it down after while. Funny kid.

EDITED: Because I forgot one. Consider it a bonus...

Caleb: (looking at the games while I play FarmVille) What's "Calf" World.
Me: Calf? (tries to find what Caleb is looking at. Sees "Cafe World) That's cafe, buddy. The thing above the e means that it's pronounced differently.
Caleb: That's what that thingy means?

My computer/camera is being stupid, so I'm not getting all the pictures I want on the picspam off the camera and on the computer. *sighs* I'm working on it. So, in the meantime, I know I'm late, but I wanna do this:

Ask me to take a picture of any aspect of my life that you're interested in - it can be anything from the house I live in to my favorite shoes. Leave your choice here as a comment, and I will reciprocate by taking the pictures and posting them as an LJ entry. Ask as for as many as you want.

Hellooooooooo LJ! I've missed you! I've missed you all!

I am working on a massive picspam/update at the moment, because it's literally been ages since I've talked to any of you. I really hate that. It's been major suckage on my end, between the class I'm taking, and the million other things that have been taking up my time since school got out for the year. Ugh.

So, until I finish the picspam, how about a meme, eh?:

1. Reply to this post, and I will pick six of your icons.
2. Make a post (including the meme info) and talk about the icons I chose.
3. Other people can then comment to you and make their own posts.
4. This will create a never-ending cycle of icon glee.

And here are the ones chosen for me by mag1 (apparently, I have 50 kajillion icons, and Mags chose the more unusual GG ones):

So I'll meme instead. I swiped this from lukecanwaltz88 , because it looked like fun, and it was short, and because I can. Muhahaha!

- Stop what you're doing.
- Print screen your current desktop.
- If you have Photoshop (or whatever image editor you use) open, print screen.
- If you have a music player open, print screen.
- Pick a folder, open it, print screen.

This is a fun one! More people should do it!

So, I got bit by a kid who has CMV today. Hard. The skin didn't break or anything and I wasn't that concerned about it earlier, but now that I'm thinking about it, CMV is definitely something I don't want to have. Plus, it is spread through saliva, so I don't want to just ignore it. Do you think I should get it checked out or am I ok?

I've been extremely lax in posting about this, partly because I've barely had time to breathe lately, but tonight, at 7:00 EST, you can chat with me (yes, ME!) about my fics. It's all a part of the Gilmore Girls Fanfic Chat-a-thon, which I'm sure you all know about by now, but I figured I'd pimp myself out anyway.

So, any burning questions for me about my writing? Or, you know, you can ask me other questions too. Since my life has been consumed by VS, I haven't been doing very much writing of my own, so I'm sure you won't have much to ask me about that. So, yeah,  tonight, 7:00EST, or 4:00 my time, come chat with me. I'm a fun chatter, I promise. Find out all about it here at our community ggfanficchat !

And, while you are over there, it's a prime opportunity to bid on your favorite fanfic authors at the Support Stacie Author Auction! I am not on the auction block this time around, but many of my fabulous friends are, and it's all for truelovepooh, who I love very very much. Click on the picture to get to the auction and you better not outbid me...I'm kidding...Kinda...
