My computer/camera is being stupid, so I'm not getting all the pictures I want on the picspam off the camera and on the computer. *sighs* I'm working on it. So, in the meantime, I know I'm late, but I wanna do this:

Hellooooooooo LJ! I've missed you! I've missed you all!

I am working on a massive picspam/update at the moment, because it's literally been ages since I've talked to any of you. I really hate that. It's been major suckage on my end, between the class I'm taking, and the million other things that have been taking up my time since school got out for the year. Ugh.

So, until I finish the picspam, how about a meme, eh?:

1. Reply to this post, and I will pick six of your icons.
2. Make a post (including the meme info) and talk about the icons I chose.
3. Other people can then comment to you and make their own posts.
4. This will create a never-ending cycle of icon glee.

And here are the ones chosen for me by mag1 (apparently, I have 50 kajillion icons, and Mags chose the more unusual GG ones):

In the Clamor and the Clangor is on my top 10 favorite episodes of GG for a myriad of reasons, but what I love about this picture is how striking the red of the coat is against the dark background and the white snow. It makes Lorelai stand out for much of that episode, and, let's face it, that coat is gorgeous on her. I have this screenshot of Lorelai standing in front of the Luke's Diner sign, with the hat, and the coat, and the snow, and I think it's just such a gorgeous picture. Unfortunately, the quality of that screenshot isn't the greatest, and I was never satisfied with the icon I had made out of it, so I told myself that if I ever saw another icon of a similar screen shot, I would replace that icon. Well, I finally did, and this was it. I also love the way this was cropped. And that is quite possibly more than you ever wanted to know about this icon :)

Ah, Nag Hammadi. An unconventional favorite episode of mine. And this scene itself is great, between Lorelai's eskimo rant, and her sitting on the Lane lump on the couch that she thinks is Rory, and the "did you ever think Silvia Plath wasn't crazy, she was just cold?" quote, which I know is a favorite of yours, Mags. Great scene all around. I needed a good winter one, and when I think GG and cold, I think about this scene. Plus, I am a sucker for any icon with Lorelai and coffee.

I think this icon was the result of "huh, I have 50 kajillion Lorelai icons. Where the heck is Rory? And forget Rory, where the heck is Paris?" So, voila! A Rory and Paris icon. I love the paper hats, and I love the background of this. I think it really makes it all stand out.

Hee, this icon makes me laugh. I've started to accept my spinster status, since I already own a cat, and I have an unnatural desire to take up knitting one of these days. And I've always loved the "Cats came to my house today..." conversation between Lorelai and Luke. Plus. I love how this icon was cropped and the coloring and really everything. It's also made by one of my favorite icon makers, chouchoune.

I think this icon is gorgeous. I love the coloring, and the way the yellow daisy kinda glows. I love that the emphasis is on the daisy, in that we can only see part of Luke's face, and can't really see his reaction to said daisy. I just think it was a very well made icon and I wish I had more excuses to use it.

I like this one a lot because it has all three of the Gilmore girls, doing something together without any signs of tension or bickering. I love how they are all sitting close to each other on the bed. Just a nice image of togetherness, and a simple image to remind us what the show is all about.

So I'll meme instead. I swiped this from lukecanwaltz88 , because it looked like fun, and it was short, and because I can. Muhahaha!

This is the result of a tutorial I was trying out. I think I like the result.

My obsessions playlist. It was once called recent obsessions, and then some of the songs stopped being so recent.

My pictures file. I'm pretty organized and anal about it. The only pictures that are out of place are the icons I just saved yesterday and hadn't filed (by TV show, if you were curious). Yeah, I filed them correctly right after I took the screencap.

So, I got bit by a kid who has CMV today. Hard. The skin didn't break or anything and I wasn't that concerned about it earlier, but now that I'm thinking about it, CMV is definitely something I don't want to have. Plus, it is spread through saliva, so I don't want to just ignore it. Do you think I should get it checked out or am I ok?

American Sign Language Videos

Every day after the kids go home these past couple of weeks, I've been teaching my friend, Yesenia, a little sign language, since she wanted to be able to communicate with our deaf kids better. We've both been having a good time with it, so I thought maybe I would extend the offer a bit. What I was thinking was doing a monthly video (maybe even making a community for it), with a theme, where I would show you signs that go a long with it and ways you can put those signs together in a sentence (a very basic ASL grammar lesson). I know it's something you could easily pick up a book and teach yourself, but there's only so much you can get from a book on sign movement and proper handshapes and sentence context. But, yeah, since I don't like making videos of myself, I figured I would ask if anyone is interested before I put myself on camera. Sooo...anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

That's right, folks! The Virtual Season 9 premiere is NEXT TUESDAY at 8PM EST!!! And, the rumors are correct, the episode is penned by myself and my Schmoopy, and yours, jewelsverne . The episode is coming together nicely, even though we got a little behind from our head writer duties. If you know Jewels and I, you are probably aware of our freakishly linked brains, and this is our first writing project (of hopefully many) together, so if the world implodes of awesomeness on Tuesday, you know why.

I'm so excited for the premiere, guys!

Bid-A-Author-athon-thingy

So, I have work, and a class, and VS, and multiple unfinished fics, but I am adding another project to my list. Am I insane? Probably. But, this is waaaaaay more important to me then my sanity.

I have joined an Fanfic-On-Demand auction as a fundraiser in support of my friend and yours, truelovepooh . She's a great gal, and I love her to pieces. If you are on my flist, you probably know Pooh (or Poog, as I keep typing today. Stupid typos), and everything she is going through right now (and if you don't check out her support site here), and anything I can do to help her, I want to do. So, here I am, offereing my time and my writing ability to the highest bidder. Any takers?

It would probably be good if I explained this a bit more, huh?

Basically, authors from any and all fandoms are invited to write a short fic on demand (obviously, the fandom I will be writing for is Gilmore Girls). People will bid on the authors of their choice, and in return, the highest bidder will get to decide what the author writes the fic about. It can really be about anything related to the fandom. If you wanted me to write a Gypsy/Andrew fic, I would do it. If you wanted me to write angst, I would suffer my way through it. If you wanted me to write fluff, I would fluff my way through it. The possibilities are endless, for the most part. There are a few specifications from the authors, like I can only commit to a short fic, and I said did not want to do a slash fic, or anything post-series, and I prefered to do something Lorelai-related, etc. Once the payment is recieved, the author will have 30 days to write the fic and post it up for you to see. You can find out all about the auction here, and keep checking it because I'm sure more information will be posted as the dates of the auction get closer.

So, basically, if you have ever wanted to see me write something, anything, Gilmore Girls related, now is your chance. This is the best cause possible, so I would really appreciate it if you would bid on me, not for me, because it certainly isn't about me, but for Pooh. She deserves it.

I hope I see some familiar faces on the auction block (I'll be the one in the pretty pink bow)! I'm actually very excited to not have to think about an idea, for a change, so you better take advantage of that ;)
