Early Morning Entertainment
So, I'm waiting for my hair to dry a bit before I go to bed, and I'm flipping through the channels and what do I find? Japanese people going through a complex obstacle course on stilts. ON STILTS, folks! It's insane! There was this 11-year-old kid doing crazy things with his stilts. Mad stilting skills, I tell you. So, first, they had to walk through rotating propellers, and then a net that would rise and fall. Then, they had to walk on top of tires, which looked really hard because that's where most of the people fell over (into a pond, mind you. That was fun to watch. One kid hit himself in the crotch with his stilt as he went down). If they made it that far (only 2 people did), they basically had to rock climb up a steep incline, and then walk down a slippery slope. And THEN, they had to make it past a series of log swings that they had to step over with the stilts. Then, they had to walk on a series of vertical poles that sank when you put weight on them. The one guy who went the farthest lost it there. So much fun!

This isn't the same course, but it's basically the same idea.

This, my friends, is why I love television.

Yeah, that's really all I had to say. I am so entertained, especially since they followed the stilt obstacle course with a hand-walking course (lots of belly-flopping potential).

Ooo, Cheaters is on! Yay for TV at 3AM!

First of all - I LOVE your icon! "But, I like jujyfruits." Second, Japanese people have the GREATEST games ever! Have you ever watched MXC (Most Extreme Elimination Challenge)? I KNOW you would love it! Third, it has always been a dream of mine to walk on stilts. And I would like to be able to work a unicycle...while juggling...fire.

I've seen MXC! And the hand walking show. Two reasons why I don't have the TV on at night anymore. It's too distracting. Between the little man keeping me up, I don't need TV to suck me into its depths.

But Cheaters...and stilt obstacle courses...and hand walking... You really are missing out. I'm such an enabler.

STOP! Between trying to catch up on the fics I didn't get to read while at work. catching up on the work taht I didn't do at work, trying to get the little man to go to sleep, and trying to get the big man to finish the dishes I don't have time to watch guilty pleasure TV!

The roomie thinks I'm a bad influence when it comes to TV. She always says she doesn't want to add another show to her week and then she sits down and watches something with me and she ends up liking it. So, then it's my fault, haha.

I knew you would love the Elaine icon. It's really hard to find Seinfeld icons, so when I see one, I jump right on it.

I need to find MXC. I'll do a TiVo search. I got a season pass for the stilts show. It was that awesome. I've always heard that Japanese shows were great, but I never knew where to find them. Now I know.

I would pay good money to see you on a unicycle juggling with fire.

OMG! I just saw the top of your page! 'Shadow Dancing' Lorelai! HA!!

I can't see the header!

Hmm, that's weird. It is a little big. I need to resize it. Maybe I'll work on that right now.
Filofilo77 on April 17th, 2008 08:32 pm (UTC)
I see it now! So kewl!

Yay! I just tried to make is smaller, but it didn't look as good, so I'm going to leave it big. I rather like how the header turned out, considering it's the first time I've made one.
Filofilo77 on April 17th, 2008 08:44 pm (UTC)
Yes, it is very, very kewl. I've been working on one to replace the pathetic little test picture I put up in mine to see if I could even get a header on there.

Unfortunately, like many of my fics, the header too is unfinished.

Thanks! I was really bored the other night, so I decided to make a header and redesign my lj. I really like the way it turned out. And the Shadow Dancing scene may be one of my favorite GG scenes ever, along with Lorelai falling on the table in R&R. Gets me everytime.

I have that song on my mp3 player, and every time it comes on, i have to dance like Lorelai.

I love that scene.

Oooh! Like MXC? I love those shows! I just caught my first episode of Cheaters last weekend, and I have to say, I was fairly ruined by it. I asked myself, Why, why, why? Why do Americans feel the need to humiliate themselves on television? And then, you put it all together with our Japanese obstacle course show and I feel so much better now...

Cheaters is like a car wreck. I know that these people are idiots and I shouldn't be supporting junk like this, and yet, I can't look away. It's just so mindlessly entertaining. A couple days ago, there was one where the guy this girl was cheating one was her cousin. And then there was another where this girl maced her boyfriend. Sigh, I can't pull myself away.
